Does iPad 4 series support eSIM?
No, the iPad 4 series do not support eSIM, including iPad 4 Wi-Fi, iPad 4 Wi-Fi Cellular.
eSIM is a new technology that allows you to use mobile plans without inserting a physical SIM Card. The iPad 4 was designed to work with traditional nano-SIM cards only.
This new feature is only available in later models starting with the 2018 iPad Pro models. This includes both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch versions..
Your current iPad is not compatible with eSIM, but you can still use this new technology in 02 ways:
- Using a special SIM Card that converts your mobile device into the one that can handle eSIM profiles, effectively bypassing the lack of built-in eSIM support.
- Upgrading your iPad to newer models that work with eSIM. Check out eSIM-compatible iPads here.
NOTE: Be aware that eSIM is not available everywhere or on every device. Your location or who you buy your phone from sometimes affects the availability of eSIM.
