How can I configure APNs for my eSIM?

After scanning the QR code, enabling roaming, you can still not get Internet access with your eSIM. You will need to configure APNs (Access Point Name) to fix the issue.
Your APN is what allow you to connect to your network. It changes by country. Normally, an APN is set up automatically when you changes eSIMs, but this may go wrong now and then. In this case, you need to do it manually.
You need to find out which APN to use. Find out it in the email received from your eSIM provider. For example, for Gigago eSIM, the APN for Malaysia is internet, as you can see in the following image:

After you find out your APN, you just need to take the following steps:

1. Setting up your APN on iOS

  • Go to Settings menu > select Mobile Data
  • Select the Gigago eSIM plan
  • Choose Mobile Data Network
  • Enter the APN code that is listed in the email sent from Gigago for your destination.

2. Setting up your APN on Android

  • Go to Settings menu > Network & Internet > Mobile Networks > Access Point Name
  • Enter a new APN code that is listed in the email sent from Gigago for your destination.

You can also leave this field blank.
