Setting a mobile data limit is required if you want to monitor your data usage. You can add the data limit, set the billing cycle, setting a warning notification before the data limit hits, etc.
Below we guide you how to set a data limit on your Android phone, divided by two popular phone brands, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel.
1. Set a data limit on Samsung Galaxy devices
- Go to Settings > Connections
- Select Data usage and check if Mobile data is on
- Select Billing cycle and data warning
- Select Start billing cycle and set the Date based on your arrival in your visiting country
- Enable Set data warning and enter a certain number to set it up. For example, if your mobile data plan is 8GB, you can set data warning at 6 GB
- Enable Set data limit and enter a certain number to set it up. Thereby, after your data usage reaches the specified limit, your mobile data will be turned off.
2. Set a data limit on your Google Pixel devices
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs
- Select Billing cycle and data warning
- Select Start billing cycle and set the Date based on your arrival in your visiting country
- Enable Set data warning and enter a certain number to set it up. For example, if your mobile data plan is 8 GB, you can set data warning at 6 GB
- Enable Set data limit and enter a certain number to set it up. Thereby, after your data usage reaches the specified limit, your mobile data will be turned off.
